How did the project start?

Chatterpants are all about clothes that feel great, look great and are a pleasure to move in. As a brand, Chatterpants understood the need to grow their online presence and further communicate the qualities of the brand, attracting suppliers and online customers alike. The Chatterpants website was doing virtually nothing for the company; the site was developed seemingly on 'out of the box' software and this restricted graphics, layout and provided little scaablilty for the company online. Chatterpants were aware that a change was needed and having experienced the problems with the current restrictive website, began looking for a reliable bespoke eCommerce solution.

What options did you consider?

Chatterpants researched a number of eCommerce developers before choosing Visualsoft based on their experience in the fashion sector. Chatterpants was also aware of Visualsoft's philosophy of working closely with young companies and nurturing their growth online. Having Chatterpants choose Visualsoft was especially significant in that the client chose a North East based company when there were a such a great number of web development companies in London offering their own eCommerce solutions. Instead, Chatterpants was happy to conduct all business by email and phone confident in Visualsoft's online abilities.

What help and expertise did you receive?

All of the project was developed in house. As with all, there is a shared workload, with Visualsoft offering technology and web expertise. This offering, however, is useless without the client offering their product and industry expertise and investing in high quality imagery. Chatterpants brought their expertise and invested a lot of time into the website, introducing imagery which was of a highly professional standard; immediately engaging visitors to the website and clearly communicating the quality of their garments.

Did you face and challenges or learn any lessons?

Chatterpants is a brand and as a relatively young company will rarely be specifically searched for as the website establishes itself. To overcome this, Visualsoft listed Chatterpants in Google products. This allowed the company to immediately appear in natural search results, even before being spidered by Google. Secondly, niche, less competitive search phrases and product titles were introduced which although less widely searched, were statistically more likely to attract site visitors which were at a buying stage.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

The website has been very successful on two levels. Firstly, there is significantly more traffic to the site now that parents are finding Chatterpants unique lines such as crawling trousers with knee pads and their bamboo kids clothing range. Conversions have also increased dramatically. Secondly, the quality of the website has elevated the online perception of the company to now clearly convey the qualities of the brand. This has led to a number of retailers requesting to stock the Chatterpants brand as online presence grows and more shoppers communicate the qualities of the brand online.

What are your plans for the future?

Plans for the future are to further grow the range of Chatterpants products and offer them to an ever growing Chatterpants client base. As the company grows online, new features will be introduced, further automating the business and increasing market share.
