easyJet pan European Online Advertising
easyJet pan European Online Advertising

How did the project start?

Our relationship with easyJet began in 2001, and we have continued to produce their online advertising for them ever since. In 2008 this comprised of over 120 seperate campaigns, many of which were multilingual pan-European deployments. Last year easyJet moved more of their attention to online advertising, and it was our job to supply effective, imaginative, and highly polished advertising to them on brief and on budget.

The animations shown here are but a small selection of those we produced in 2008.

Each brief received in 2008 provided a different challenge, and we believe that the variety, creativity and professionalism that was demanded of us in 2008 by one of the UK largest online advertisers recommends us for this award.

What options did you consider?

We considered and used dynamic banner serving technologies such as Flashtalking and Eyeblaster as well as standard SWF animations, but the options for online advertising are generally dictated by the client and the network they wish to advertise on.

What help and expertise did you receive?

Help was received towards the latter half of last year by Publicis Berlin who became involved with some of the concept generation. We worked closely with them to animated these concepts, turning storyboards or static 'objects' into lively online adverts.

All the production work is handled internally, and no external funding was required.

Did you face and challenges or learn any lessons?

Each brief received in 2008 provided a different challenge. It is no easy job to turn around creative for such a high profile client week in week out. Often briefs would be received on a Thursday and the final adverts would be online for the weekend, sometimes even the same day!

Every week we learn something new about online advertising, and we always need to adapt and improve the way we work in order to accommodate the ambition and scale of the client's vision.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

Our work for easyJet has meant that other clients, both large and small, have approached us to work on their online advertising. It has also given us the confidence to know that we can excel in a highly pressurised and competitive area while based outside of London.

What are your plans for the future?

We plan to continue working with easyJet and Publicis going forward, and expand our existing business across all areas of online design and marketing.
