Orange Bus decided a video would help with promoting our unique approach to working with clients. We contacted Twenty First Century Media and were instantly impressed with their ideas.
When we first had the idea of doing a video we assumed it would contain clips of the team at Orange Bus to help present our personality to prospective clients before we get to meet them. As an alternative 21st CM came up with the idea of having a central actor playing the part of Mr Orange bus and we felt this would work much better as we could introduce an element of humour and perhaps even a certain arrogance to his character that otherwise would look over the top.
Twenty First Century Media we a great help to us, providing ideas and casting advice.
We also turned to Orange Bus clients O'Neill and Eleven to provide the clothing for the actor, with O'Neill also giving us a branded surfboard which now sits proudly in our office after being used in the video.
The main challenge was finding a suitable actor, it was extremely difficult getting someone to be confident without appearing cocky whilst still retaining a nice element to his character.
We felt it was critical to the success of the project to find the right actor however and spent a significant amount of time watching screen tests and meeting applicants before choosing.
The team here at Orange Bus created a webpage with the video embedded within which was customisable to certain clients, so when they were invited to view the page they received targeted and personalised information. This was used in email marketing messages and proved very successful, opening doors to a number of clients from as far north as Aberdeen to the South coast. We even received an enquiry from Thailand this week as a direct results of the video being shown on YouTube.
We have already commissioned a series of shorter videos in the same style to be attached to case studies of major projects. The first of these will accompany a website launch in March of a major music venue in London.
